📣 Welcome Our New High School Principal! 📣

We are excited to announce that Mr. Bryson Daniels has been named the new Principal of Turner County High School!

Mr. Daniels brings a strong record of visionary leadership and student-focused success. Most recently, he served as the inaugural 6–12 Campus Principal for Thomasville City Schools, where he successfully led the opening and development of a unified middle and high school campus. During his three-year tenure, he established a culture of academic excellence, accountability, and student support that resulted in significant gains across multiple performance indicators.

Among his most notable accomplishments, Mr. Daniels led the school to achieve the highest graduation rate in school history - demonstrating his steadfast commitment to ensuring every student is prepared for success beyond high school. Under his leadership, the school was also recognized as a Scholar High School for Academic Achievement for three consecutive years, reflecting sustained excellence in student performance.

Mr. Daniels implemented strategic attendance initiatives that resulted in a 5% increase in middle school attendance and a 3% increase in high school attendance, strengthening student engagement and academic outcomes. He also introduced innovative academic support systems, including Saturday School programs for grades 6–12 and End-of-Course (EOC) Boot Camps for seniors, providing targeted intervention and enrichment opportunities in tested subject areas.

Prior to his service in Thomasville City Schools, Mr. Daniels served for three years as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director in Turner County School System, where he developed strong leadership skills in school operations, student discipline, athletics, and instructional support.

Throughout his career, Mr. Daniels has consistently demonstrated a passion for excellence and a commitment to empowering students, teachers, and communities. His proven ability to build strong educational programs and improve student outcomes positions him well to lead Turner County High School toward continued growth and achievement.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Daniels back to Turner County Schools! 💙🎓

📣 Welcome Our New Special Education Director! 📣

We are proud to announce that Dr. Stephanie Gagnon has been named the new Special Education Director for the Turner County School System.

Dr. Gagnon is an accomplished educational leader with a proven record of driving school and system improvement, particularly in turnaround environments and comprehensive student support. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Specific Learning Disabilities, a Master’s Degree and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Mercer University.

Dr. Gagnon brings deep expertise in special education and student services, shaped by 16 years as a special education teacher and her tenure as a Special Education Director in Southwest Georgia. In that role, she was instrumental in leading the district out of discipline and identification disproportionality. Her work included designing a Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS) program focused on reading and social-emotional learning, resulting in a 40% reduction in discipline referrals, as well as creating an innovative program allowing students with disabilities to attend college while still in high school. She also designed and implemented the Birth to 5 PIP special education referral process, streamlined human and financial resources, and maximized FTE funding to stabilize the special education budget.

Currently, Dr. Gagnon serves as principal of a Pre-K–8 Title I school serving 650 students and 150 staff. In this role, she has led systemic reform efforts, including the design and implementation of a comprehensive behavior response system that resulted in a 20% reduction in behavior referrals and a 16% decrease in chronic absenteeism. She also secured a partnership with a local university to provide on-site mental health supports for students during the school day.

Previously, Dr. Gagnon served as an elementary school turnaround principal, where she successfully led a Title I Needs Improvement school off the state-designated list within two years and earned the Georgia Department of Education Greatest Gains Award.

Dr. Gagnon is excited to bring her talents to Turner County and serve our community. Building on the strong foundation already in place, her priorities include maintaining a 100% LEA Determination, increasing student achievement in ELA and Math, addressing disproportionality, and expanding postsecondary and employment opportunities for students with disabilities through strong partnerships with families and the community. Her primary focus in her first year will be building sustainable, compliant, and fiscally responsible systems that support all students.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Gagnon to Turner County Schools! 💙♿📘

🎉 Happy Birthday & Best Wishes’ Farewell Breakfast to Our District and School Leaders! 🎉

We recently gathered for a special Farewell Breakfast to celebrate milestones, leadership, and service across Turner County Schools!

We are incredibly proud to recognize Jason Clark, Turner County High School Principal, on his promotion and leadership advancement. Mr. Clark’s commitment to students and staff has left a lasting impact, and we look forward to watching his continued success in this next chapter.

We also extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Sonya Mizell, Special Education Director, as she enters retirement. Ms. Mizell’s years of dedicated service, advocacy for students, and unwavering professionalism have made a difference in countless lives.

In addition, we were excited to celebrate birthdays for our district and school leaders during the months of April and May. We hope each of you felt the appreciation and gratitude you so richly deserve.

🎂 Happy Birthday to:
Jason Clark, Sonya Mizell, Ben Lavender, Faye Belflower, Mike Coker

Beginning in 2026, Superintendent Christy Wray launched a new birthday tradition during monthly principal/director meetings - honoring leaders with a custom, Titan-themed hand-painted rock as a token of appreciation. Each rock represents the strong foundation our leaders help build across Turner County Schools. The Titan logo reflects our strength, pride, and unity, and each painted name symbolizes the vital role each leader plays in our district’s success.

💬 “A strong education is built on committed people who lay the foundation for lifelong learning.”

Thank you all for being steady “rocks” for our students, staff, and community. We are stronger because of you - and we look forward to continuing the great work ahead together. 💙
