If you are a local, you know that for years the gates between Asbury Park and Ocean Grove are locked after a certain hour. The community has finally had enough, with Asbury Park Councilwoman Eileen Chapman, Ocean Grove resident Daniele Boglivi-Fiori, and Asbury Park Democrats Chairman Giuseppe M. Grillo stepping into the fore-front to end the archaic locking of the gates.
This is specifically an issue for young people, as many of us get home from work at late hours and are forced to walk the long way home. It is dangerous and unnecessary.
Via Ocean Grove resident Barbara Muzychka, It's now been brought to the attention of the community that the Neptune Mayor is going door-to-door in Ocean Grove collecting signatures of those in-favor of keeping the gates locked. Those who answer their doors NOT in favor of locking the gates' signatures are not being taken.
Please join the Asbury Park Young Democrats Saturday July 13th for our July General Meeting with a special focus on the gates. All opinions and discussion are welcome. If you are an Ocean Grove or Asbury Park resident, or if you work or hang out in either city, your voice is welcome.
Open the gates!!!
