There is something special about stepping inside a one-room schoolhouse and, for a little while, experiencing education the way generations before us did.

Today’s Amish Education program brought guests together inside our restored schoolhouse for singing, reading, lessons, history, and conversation led by those who know these traditions firsthand.

The setting was small, personal, and intentionally simple, which allowed the experience itself to remain the focus. Guests were able to learn, participate, share memories of their own school days, and gain a deeper appreciation for the traditions that continue to shape Amish education today.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful morning at the Illinois Amish Heritage Center.
