Iran’s Drones Threat:
I had a couple of people reach out to me about the drone rumors that are all over social media today. I reached out to our chief of police to ask him what our plans are here in AG:

From Chief Culver: “I want to begin by expressing that I share your concerns, as well as those of our community. The Police Department has been informed, via a law enforcement–only, confidential FBI memo, of a potential drone threat to the West Coast. At this time, I have very limited information to share. However, I spoke with the FBI’s Special Agent in charge of our area, just before sending this email, and he reassured me that there is currently no threat to our community or the surrounding areas. If that situation changes, we would be notified and provided with information on the type of response needed. This is being handled at the national level. Our FBI partners are actively monitoring this, and they will keep us informed if anything changes.”

Much appreciated, Chief!

🚧 Temporary Bridge Closure Wednesday – Mason Street Bridge 🚧

The Mason Street Bridge will be temporarily closed to all traffic from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, to allow for the emergency removal of a 60-foot tree that fell on private property immediately adjacent to the Bridge. The tree is leaning on the Bridge structure and poses a risk to utility systems attached to the Bridge.

✅ Detours and message boards will be in place Wednesday morning.
✅ Closure scheduled outside of school drop-off and peak traffic hours.
✅ City crews will be on-site for traffic control and utility protection.

On Sunday morning, October 5, 2025, the top of the tree canopy extended into the roadway and was removed by City crews. Following inspections, no damage was observed to the bridge structure.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as this emergency work is completed.
