Bruce serves as a YWCA Abuse Intervention Facilitator, working with individuals who may have suffered from abuse in their own past and are seeking to create safer, healthier patterns moving forward.

Through an evidence-based 28-week program, participants, whether court-mandated or self-referred, build accountability, healthier communication skills, and tools to promote safe and productive relationships.

At the YWCA, we believe our clients have the strength and motivation to establish a brighter future, and safer communities are built when people are provided with the tools and confidence to realize their best selves.

We were honored to receive nearly $700,000 in federal funding that will directly support survivors of domestic violence and abuse in Anne Arundel County.

This critical investment will strengthen our domestic violence prevention efforts by allowing for significant expansion in housing options for those leaving an abusive home —helping survivors and their children find safety, stability, and a path toward independence.

We are deeply grateful to Chris Van Hollen, Angela Alsobrooks, Sarah Elfreth, and Steuart Pittman for their support and shared commitment to breaking the cycle of intergenerational violence.

In February, we honor Black History, the resilience, leadership, and contributions of Black individuals who have shaped our communities and our country.

At the YWCA of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, we are proud of our long-standing commitment to racial justice and equity. Black history is not just history, it is living, evolving, and foundational to the work we do every day to eliminate racism and empower women.

We celebrate the changemakers of the past, uplift the leaders of today, and recommit ourselves to building a more just and inclusive future for all.

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.

At the YWCA of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, we are committed to creating safe communities, advocating for survivors, and raising awareness about human trafficking in our region.

Human trafficking affects people of all ages, backgrounds, and communities — but together, we can make a difference. Your support helps us provide resources, education, and services to survivors and those at risk.

Meet Stacie, the Chief Operating Officer of the YWCA of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County!

Stacie leads our team from an administrative standpoint ensuring our programs, advocacy, and counseling to ensure survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault have access to safe houses, crisis hotlines, and legal support.

Our programs help survivors build independent, empowered lives. Every day, we watch people go from broken to empowered, ready to thrive in their families and communities.
