Arrest and charges following an investigation into a report and allegations of a female being unlawfully recorded while in a vulnerable state.
50-year-old Erik D. Nilsen of Arnold is charged with eight counts each of Felony Invasion of Privacy for allegedly photographing and recording individuals while they were tanning at a local business. The investigation, which began when the incident was reported on July 6th 2026, led to detectives uncovering evidence Nilsen had been engaging in the unlawful recording dating back to 2021. Detectives, through extensive analysis of digital forensic data, were able to identify multiple victims who were unaware they had been unlawfully recorded.
On 9/8/2026 the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for Nilsen. On 9/10/2026 Arnold Police Officers and Detectives arrested Nilsen who was being held on $50,000 bond.
The Arnold Police Department is actively working to ensure all potential victims are identified and justice can be sought.
We would like to thank the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for their assistance in this case.
