Ebbetts Pass Fire Fighters Association EPFD is a combination paid/volunteer fire district located in the southeastern portion of Calaveras County. Reba ski resort.

With two career fire stations, the District begins along Highway 4 at the Utica Grade (approx. 2,500' elevation) and continues up the highway to the Alpine County line (7,000'). The District includes the resort and retirement community of Arnold, the majestic Calaveras Big Trees State Park, and is near the Bear Valley/Mt. EPFD and Cal Fire were dispatched to a female fall victim with a head injury at the Candy Rock Swimming Hole. With the i...

EPFD and Cal Fire were dispatched to a female fall victim with a head injury at the Candy Rock Swimming Hole. With the injuries and terrain that the victim was in, units requested Cal Fire’s Helicopter 601, from Columbia. Helicopter 601 with hoisting capabilities was able to lower rescuers to the victim, extract the victim and EPFD’s paramedic from the scene. 601 was then able to rendezvous with EPFD’s Ambulance and PHI Med 4-2 Sonora at Crescent Cove LZ. The victim was then flown to a valley trauma center. A video will be posted in the comments.
