🚒 Important Fire Department Dues Update 🚒

By now, you should have received the fire dues fee letter in the mail.

You will receive one more letter for collecting fire dues for the upcoming year. These dues are essential in helping keep our fire department operating and ready to serve our community.

Beginning in 2027, fire dues will be automatically assessed on property taxes, eliminating the need for future collection letters.

A huge thank you to the Mississippi County Quorum Court and to everyone who worked tirelessly to get this ordinance passed. This change makes it easier for our community to support the fire department and helps ensure long-term sustainability moving forward.

💵 This is a fire protection fee (not a tax) — $100 or less per year — that helps ensure our volunteers have the resources, training, and equipment needed to protect our community.

🚨 Armorel Huffman Volunteer Fire Department Update 🚨

There will be no meeting tonight. Our leadership team is currently working on finalizing a meeting and training schedule, which we’ll share soon.

We are truly overwhelmed and grateful for the amount of interest and support from our community so far. The longevity of this department depends on the faithfulness of our volunteers—and we know that together, we can get this back on track. ❤️‍🔥

👉 We’re also working to set up Fire Text notifications so volunteers can stay updated on training and important announcements.

🧹 Looking ahead, tentative clean-up days are scheduled for Tuesday, September 30th or Tuesday, October 7th. More details coming soon!

We want to thank everyone who came out to our meeting on Tuesday — we had 22 in attendance! 🙌

During the meeting, we shared updates on the current status of our department and the steps that remain to move forward. Meeting summary notes have been sent to everyone who registered for email notifications. If you filled out the Google Form but didn’t receive an email, please let us know so we can make sure you’re added to the list.

👉 Emails have also gone out to those who signed up as volunteer firefighters. If you didn’t receive one, please reach out so we can get you connected.
