With it being memorial day weekend your arma firefighters and members of Arma P.D as well as Crawford county emergency management came together to celebrate those who gave the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom. We came together not as separate departments or individuals but as a family. We also wanted to celebrate the hard work that has been put in by each and every one of our members. We are blessed to have such a great group of people who want to serve our community and surrounding communities. Lunch, games, fellowship, and a lot of laughs. Even had a 4 legged friend joing in. We are thankful to have this opportunity. One of our police officers even got to fulfill his dream and ride in the big red fire truck lol.

Well just when I thought we have heard of all the animal rescue calls a new one comes in. We received a call today from a concerned citizen about a bird who was believe it or not, stuck in a tree. The birds foot had gotten stuck in a branch and could not get it free. Our crew on shift was able to use our ladder truck to make access and free the bird. Sometimes its not the excitement and danger that makes this job great, its doing the little things! Great job guys.

Our boys are heading home after a long couple of days. We are proud of them and the work they put in.

While we have 2 of our firefighters out on a deployment several of our other members are starting their path towards hazardous materials certifications. We are proud of all of our members for continuing to better themselves as firefighters and striving to be of better service to our community and those around us.

We talk about how we strive to help not just our community but our neighboring communities as well. Today 2 of our firefighters are stepping up to the plate. Firefighters Lucas Pipkin and Ryddr Grosstephan are hitting the road as part of a task force being deployed by the county to help fight the wildfires out in western Kansas. Make us proud guys and stay safe.
