Teamwork on and off the job! ✅🔑

EO1 Merriman and CE1 Keller worked in the FRC key shop cutting keys to fulfill a constituent post work order, helping ensure secure access and continued mission support.

The teamwork didn’t stop there. EO1 Merriman and logistician Ally Cornett also joined the ESC FRC team for their monthly gathering, taking on a rock-climbing session at a local facility to build camaraderie and strengthen team bonds.

From supporting operational needs to strengthening the team behind the mission, it’s all part of keeping things moving forward.

🎉 Celebrating 60 Years of “Can Do” Excellence! 🐝⚓

Yesterday marked a historic milestone, the 60th Anniversary of the Naval Support Unit, State Department!

On April 21, 1966, the Secretary of the Navy officially established NSU, launching a legacy of innovation, resilience, and unwavering dedication that continues to shape our mission today.

Born during one of the most demanding periods in our nation’s history, the Vietnam War, NSU was created through ingenuity and partnership. With Seabees already operating at high demand worldwide, a groundbreaking agreement ensured continued support to the Department of State without compromising global operations. That solution laid the foundation for what NSU represents today.

For six decades, NSU Seabees have proudly embodied the “Can Do” spirit:
🔧 Building and maintaining critical infrastructure
🌍 Supporting embassies and consulates worldwide
⚡ Responding rapidly in times of crisis
🤝 Bridging military excellence with diplomatic mission success

This legacy wasn’t built overnight; it was built by YOU. Every project completed, every challenge overcome, and every mission supported continues to carry this proud tradition forward.

As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we honor the past, take pride in the present, and look ahead to the future we’re building together.

🎂 Happy 60th Birthday, NSU Seabees!
Here’s to the next chapter of excellence.

EO1 Curry and the ESO STS team demonstrated exceptional initiative and technical expertise this period. 🔥

When a torn X-ray belt shut down CAC3, creating a serious vulnerability at a critical access point, they responded immediately. The team completed a full belt replacement, system regeneration, and calibration, restoring the checkpoint to full operational readiness with minimal downtime and maintaining the mission’s security posture.

In a separate incident, EO1 Curry quickly engineered a secure solution for newly arrived sensitive material. He ran 45 feet of conduit from the generator room to exterior connex boxes, integrated alarms into the low-level reporting system, programmed iStar inputs, and established continuous camera monitoring.

Proactive problem-solving, technical precision, and mission-first focus. Outstanding work by EO1 Curry and the ESO STS team. 👏
