When a child is placed in your home, you’re required to keep key records on hand to support their care.

Be sure to track (if available):
✔️ Basic info + legal status
✔️ Caseworker & emergency contacts
✔️ Medical, mental health & medications
✔️ School records (IEP/504, report cards)
✔️ Cultural plan
✔️ Visitation plan
✔️ Behavior/supervision needs
✔️ Personal belongings inventory
✔️ Medical consent forms
✔️ Approved pick-up individuals

📌 Also helpful: court order + case plan from Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families

✨ Why it matters:
Keeps you organized, prepared for emergencies, and helps you advocate for the child with confidence.

💚 A simple binder or planner makes all the difference.

Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. It was a busy day, and we will compile more pictures later, but here is what you need to know:

Over 100 people attended. MOST were not foster parents. They were therapists, visit supervisors, CASA staff, adoptive parents, and social workers.

Many people were able to share their stories with the representatives.

Multiple representatives showed up and offered their support, but need our help if we are going to fix this as there is a lot of controversy over this subject.

Several organizations stood together. Social workers who are leaders in their union stood and spoke boldly not just about the law but also about the issues it created in the workplace.

We reached over 3,000 people who are following this page for updates and formed new alliances with other grassroots non profit groups who are ready to fight with us.

It’s time Washington. Let’s make this the start of our redemption story. The law isn’t working and it’s a grown up’s job to KEEP KIDS SAFE.
