Local Meals on Wheels providers are doing everything they can to maintain meal deliveries to homebound older adults, but rising costs are making it increasingly difficult. For many recipients, these deliveries are a lifeline against hunger and isolation.

Supporting your local Meals on Wheels helps ensure that rising costs don't stop meals from getting to the older adults who need them.

From extended power outages to extreme weather emergencies, local Meals on Wheels providers can be a critical lifeline for older adults when they need it most.

Meals on Wheels continues to provide a lifeline after Gary and Northwest Indiana experience historic power outages as more than 500 volunteers on more than 50 routes work to serve around 2,200 meals daily.

Today, Meals On Wheels of Hillsborough County in N.H., with support from PetSmart Charities helps Melody care for Max by providing dog food and other essentials.

When a senior is homebound and unable to cook or shop, being placed on a waitlist can mean waiting for the help that keeps them nourished, connected and safe. We must treat senior hunger as the urgent national crisis it is and make sure help is available when seniors need it most.

Meals on Wheels West in Santa Monica has 93 seniors on a waitlist for home-delivered meals, the first in the organization's 50-year history, reflecting a deepening hunger crisis.
