Did you enjoy the City of Arlington, Washington - Government of Arlington Fiesta that was part of Hispanic Heritage Month as well as the last Music In Legion Park for 2026? Mariachi Fiesta Mexicana started out the event, we then played Arlington Loteria and the night ended with Moon Fleur- Soul of Santana.

The smiles were contagious, and the rain mostly held off until the end.

Make sure to put this Fiesta event on your calendar for next year.

Applications are now open for the 2027 National Civics Bee! Do you know a middle school student that is interested in how goverment works? How to connect with the community?

It's time to show off your civic knowledge! We're officially accepting applications for the 2027 🎉

📝 Students in grades 6-8 are invited to write an essay identifying a community challenge, propose a solution, and share how civic principles can help bring it to life.

🏆 Top essays will advance to regional and state competitions, with a chance to compete nationally for recognition and prizes—including a $100,000 education savings award for the champion.

Did you know that during the Trick or Treat hour of Hometown Halloween, some of the stores can give out more than a $1,200 worth of candy. Let's help out some of the stores and the Arlington Farmers Market vendors by donating candy or cash to purchase candy, so every kid is able to get candy from their favorite store, farm or vendor.

As I watched the happiness of a very long-anticipated ribbon-cutting for Miss Candice's Early Learning Center, I was reminded that Labor Day is a great moment to show thanks for the people whose work keeps our communities moving. From that early learning teacher to small business owners and their employees to teachers, healthcare workers, farmers, manufacturers, tradespeople, first responders, and public servants, our community is stronger because of the people who show up every day and do the work. I love sitting on Olympic Avenue and watching your busy days and all the things you do to make our community better, stronger and more stable. This is also why we started Arlington (Stilly Valley) Works Wednesdays to help grow our community from within.

If you are hiring employees, have a wonderful employee that we could highlight, or make an amazing Stilly Valley-made product reach out to us.

Join us on Tuesday, September 8th at noon for our September Stilly Valley Chamber Meeting. We invited Linda Neunzig back from Snohomish County Agriculture as you had so many great questions. She is going to talk about how businesses and agriculture grow our economy.

We will also introduce you to a new business, Makana Korner, who will be serving Kalua Pig (pulled pork) with Kalua, Rice, and Mac salad. Makana Korner is a business that centers on their Polynesian roots. You may have seen them at Arlington Street Fair, or a couple of weeks ago at Art In The Park. (With school just starting, our culinary students are not yet ready to provide lunch.)

We will be back at Byrnes Performing Arts Center at Arlington High School. Cost for lunch is $22.50.

Are you looking for a Early Learning Center? Today we were blessed to help with Miss Candace's House Early Learning Center ribbon cutting and watch her dream come true.

Miss Candace's House Early Learning Center is located in the apartments near the base of Glen Eagle on 67th Avenue, near both schools and the Arlington Airport and the Cascade Industrial Zone.
