🎉The Snack Shack opens today at 12PM for the summer season! 🍕🌭

Located at Haller Park, the Snack Shack is more than just a place to grab a snack on a sunny day, it's a place that plays an important role in supporting our mission of serving the community with dignity and compassion while fighting food insecurity. All proceeds from the Snack Shack go directly back to the food bank to help purchase food for our neighbors in need.

The Snack Shack also serves as a summer food resource for children who don't have access to school meals while school is out. Through our meal voucher program, local children and families can redeem vouchers for free meals at the Snack Shack throughout the season. ❤️

Whether you're stopping by for a cold drink, a homemade Naan bread pizza, or an ice cream, you're helping make a difference right here in our community.

As we warned this morning, our local rivers are bitterly cold and still running fast. There have been three water rescues in the county already today, including one in Arlington.

Two victims became overtired and stranded on the northern shore of the Stillaguamish near Haller Park, requiring the water rescue team to deploy a rescue kayak to bring them across the river to the park for medical evaluation.

Both victims were evaluated and refused transport.

The City of Arlington Terminates Police Officer Following Internal Investigation

(Arlington, WA)— The City of Arlington has terminated the employment of an Arlington Police Officer, effective June 11, 2026, following an internal investigation into violations of department policy.

This Officer was previously arrested by the Island County Sheriff’s Office on May 18, 2026, for investigation of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He was arrested again by the Island County Sheriff on May 29, 2026, for violation of a domestic violence no-contact order.

The city takes employee conduct seriously and is committed to maintaining high professional standards and public trust.
