Menotomy Preschool students recently had the chance to hang with Arlington DPW during National Public Works Week!

Students loved exploring and learning about the important work DPW staff do throughout our community.

Thank you to Arlington DPW for such a fun experience for our youngest learners!

Sometimes, signs that a young person is struggling can be easy to miss, especially when it comes to boys and young men.

Join Cartwheel and Chris Smith, a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and Director of the Looking Ahead program, for a free virtual webinar: Supporting Boys: Mental Health Strategies for Young Men.

Families will learn practical ways to recognize when a boy is struggling beneath the surface, start conversations that actually land, and build the kind of everyday connection that supports lasting mental health.

Date: Tuesday, June 4
Time: 12–1 pm ET

Thank you to all of the student organizers and performers who brought the Eco Fair to life, and to the families and community members who showed up, participated, and made it such a fun event!

We also want to give a big shout out to our community partners who shared their time and resources: Del’s, La Vic’s, Food Link, Daily Bloom, Zero Waste Arlington, Mystic River Watershed Association, and the Swap Shed.

From crafting flower crowns to exploring hands-on sustainability activities, we loved sharing this day with you!

Hugs come easy when coworkers become true friends!

At our staff appreciation ceremony, we celebrated APS milestones, honoring those who recently achieved professional status, as well as staff marking 50, 30, 25, and 20 years of service. We also shared heartfelt stories about colleagues entering retirement who will be deeply missed.

Thank you to all who make APS such a special place.

Real-world experience starts here!

Through the Arlington High School Internship Program, students have had the opportunity to build professional skills, connect with mentors, and gain experience beyond the classroom. Internship placements have included the Arlington Town Manager’s Office, ACMi, Arlington Investment Advisors, and State Representative Sean Garballey.

We’re always looking to grow our network of community partners who want to support and mentor APS students. These are juniors and seniors who will work 4–5 hours per week with flexible scheduling.

If you are interested in hosting an intern please contact Nicole Eidson at [email protected].

Take a look at some moments from past AHS internships!
