Each month at South Middle School, Wednesday Wellness provides students with simple strategies and reminders to support their mental health and overall well-being.

This month, we’re practicing Roller Coaster Breathing (also known as 5-Finger Breathing), a quick, effective technique to calm your body and center your mind before high-stress moments.

🎉 6th grade, here we come! 🎉

New school, new friends, new classes… and a whole new adventure!

Last week, our incoming South 6th graders got a head start on middle school with staff introductions, 8th grade advice, locker tips, meeting Hope the therapy dog, and an ice cream social to top it all off!

Pay-it-forward energy. 💙 These 8th grade leaders wanted to make sure our newest students had the same great start they did.

6th Grade Orientation at both middle schools gave our incoming 6th graders an opportunity to find their lockers, open their lockers (VERY important), roam the school, and get comfortable with where everything is.

It’s a vital part of the transition to middle school, and something both buildings take seriously.
