Our Hooked on Heroes event was a reel success! 🎣🚔

We had a great turnout, plenty of smiles, and even a few fish that were brave enough to take the bait. More importantly, local kids had the opportunity to spend time with officers, learn some fishing skills, make memories, and see that cops are people too.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this event possible, including our volunteers, sponsors, families, and all of the young anglers who joined us. Community events like this remind us that building relationships doesn't always happen from behind a badge—it sometimes happens at the end of a fishing pole.

Until next time... keep your lines tight, your stories slightly exaggerated, and your fish tales believable.

• 17 speeding citations issued
• 23 seat belt violations
• 2 citations for texting while driving
• 37 hazardous moving violations
• 43 other traffic violations
• 1 arrest for driving with a suspended license

The Click It or Ticket campaign serves as a reminder that wearing a seat belt is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stay safe on the road. The Arkansas City Police Department encourages all drivers and passengers to buckle up every trip, every time.

IT’S THE BEST DAY EVERRRRRRR!

Our favorite day, National Power Ring Day!

This morning, our officers responded to a very serious situation at IKES DONUT SHOP. Reports indicated a fresh supply of power rings was available. Multiple units arrived on scene immediately. Lights may or may not have been activated. 😏

After a thorough investigation, we can confirm the donuts were delicious and the community remains safe.

Happy National Donut Day to everyone, especially our friends at Ike's for keeping first responders and citizens powered up one power ring at a time!

A huge thank you to Scooter's Coffee for donating the coffee and all the fixins’ ☕👏

And yes… before you ask… IKES DONUT SHOP power rings WILL be available. We would never make you attend a morning event without donuts. That would be suspicious behavior on our part. 🍩🚔

Come hang out with us, grab some coffee, a power ring (or three), and start your Thursday the right way!

Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of warmer weather, road trips, and increased traffic on Kansas roadways. As more drivers head out for holiday travel and summer activities, the Arkansas City Police Department is reminding everyone to buckle up and drive safely.

The Arkansas City Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across the country for the nationwide Click It or Ticket campaign, running now through June 1. During this campaign, drivers can expect to see increased law enforcement presence on local roadways focused on seat belt enforcement.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), wearing a seat belt is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself in a crash. Seat belts help keep occupants securely inside the vehicle, while failing to wear one greatly increases the risk of serious injury or death, especially in rollover or ejection crashes.

Before you hit the road this holiday weekend, remember these important safety tips:

• The shoulder belt should lay flat across the middle of your chest and away from your neck.
• The lap belt should fit snugly across your hips, not your stomach.
• Never place the shoulder belt behind your back or under your arm.
• Children should always be secured in age- and size-appropriate car seats or booster seats until adult seat belts fit properly.

Whether you’re traveling across town or across the state, take a moment to buckle up every trip, every time.

🚨 FUGITIVE FRIDAY 🚨

We are feeling generous this week because instead of one Fugitive Friday feature… we’ve got THREE.

That’s right — it’s a buy none, get three free special.

If you recognize any of the individuals posted and know where they may be, please contact the Arkansas City Police Department or submit a tip.

As always, do not approach them yourself. Let us do the running… preferably before we have to start handing out matching bracelets. 😉

Happy Friday, Besties. Stay out
of trouble so you don’t end up starring in next week’s episode. 🚔
