Our 5th grade ELA Eagles are stepping into the role of authors, editors, and designers as they create their very own magazines inspired by the text. Along the way, they’re learning to:

🔎 Make a claim and back it up with evidence from the text
💭 Explain their reasoning and show their thinking
📝 Use the text structure they studied in their own writing
📰 Add text features to make their magazines engaging and informative
📚 Use academic vocabulary from the passage
✨ Get creative while showing what they know!

We had some special visitors at Argyle West! ✨ Dr. McDade, Dr. Jordan, and Mrs. Tullos had the chance to stop by a few classrooms and see the amazing things happening across campus.

Check out Mrs. McDowell’s fifth-grade scientists learning about solutions, nonsolutions, and the physical properties of matter! 🧪🔬 Students rotated through different stations, worked collaboratively, and used hands-on investigations to make observations and deepen their understanding. We love seeing our Eagles actively engaged in science!! 🦅

Grandparents, decorate your cars and get ready—we cannot wait to celebrate all of our amazing Argyle West grandparents! 💛🦅

We have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure the parade flows as smoothly as possible. Be on the lookout for detailed instructions and a video through ParentSquare and email.

Mrs. Wallace's 2nd grade has been busy this week exploring the properties of different materials based on texture, flexibility, and whether light passes through. Our students were SO excited to have their senior buddies visit their classrooms and spend some time with them! We love seeing these special connections form between our youngest Eagles and our seniors!! 🦅 Thursday mornings are our favorite!!!
