Village of Argyle Approves Purchase of Downtown Bank Building

https://www.argylewi.gov/village-of-argyle-approves-purchase-of-downtown-bank-building/

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 11, 2025

ARGYLE, WI — The Village of Argyle is pleased to announce that the Village Board voted unanimously on December 10, 2025, to enter into a Commercial Offer to Purchase the building located at 321 E. Milwaukee Street, currently operating as First National Bank & Trust / Bank First.

The bank will continue normal operations through December 31, 2025. Following its scheduled closure at this location, the Village anticipates closing on the property on January 15, 2026.
The purchase price authorized by the Board is $262,500, covering the three downtown parcels at this site.

This acquisition is intended to support the creation of a fully ADA-accessible community hub, with space planned for library services, senior programming, a community meeting room, and additional public parking. It will also allow the Village to reconfigure its existing Village Hall to bring more day-to-day operations onto the first level and improve accessibility there as well.

A big THANK YOU to our snow plow drivers who work hard to keep our streets clear and safe!❄️
Now that winter is upon us, please remember not to push snow onto the road. 🪏 It might seem like no big deal, but shoveling or blowing snow from your driveway or sidewalk onto roads can cause damage and is illegal.
❄️ It can create hazards for drivers
🚛 It can damage snowplows
❄️ It can impede drainage
⚖️ Village Ordinance § 568-10 prohibits shoveling into the street.

Together we can keep our roads safe this winter and our sidewalks clear!

Today is Snowplow Driver Appreciation Day in Wisconsin! We send a big “THANK YOU!” to the men and women who brave winter’s worst through day and night to keep Wisconsin’s roads safe and passable.

We’re grateful for the partnership with the Wisconsin County Highway Association (WCHA) and the 72 county highway departments to provide snow and ice control on our highways throughout the winter.

Join us as we on social media and do your part by staying patient when behind snowplows and giving them space. https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/about-wisdot/newsroom/news-rel/120125-Snowplow-Driver-Appreciation.aspx
