🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the Argo Police Department! 🇺🇸

As we celebrate the Fourth of July, we proudly honor the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States of America. For two and a half centuries, our nation has stood as a beacon of freedom, courage, and opportunity because of the sacrifices of those who came before us and those who continue to serve today.

Here in Argo, Independence Day is about more than fireworks and celebrations. It’s about family, neighbors, faith, and community. It’s about proudly displaying the American flag, remembering those who fought to preserve our freedoms, and teaching the next generation what it means to be an American.

As you enjoy this special day, please celebrate safely. Drive responsibly, look out for one another, and help us keep our community a safe place for everyone.

Happy Independence Day, happy America250, and may God continue to bless Argo, the great State of Alabama, and the United States of America.

Today is a special day for K9 Argo as he turns 10 years old and officially begins his retirement.

K9 Argo holds a special place in our department’s history as the City’s first K9 and the start of its K9 program.

Over the years, this community has seen many posts, events, demonstrations, and arrests involving K9 Argo. He has served faithfully, worked hard, and left a lasting mark on our department and community.

Throughout his career, K9 Argo played an important role in numerous narcotics and currency seizures, major investigations, and high-risk suspect apprehensions. His narcotics detection work supported local, regional, and federal partners, helping strengthen investigations and improve officer safety.

One of K9 Argo’s many accomplishments was making the largest seizure of its kind reported to the National Interdiction Conference in 2023, totaling over 100 pounds of synthetic narcotics.

K9 Argo’s service helped remove dangerous individuals and illegal narcotics from our community, and his impact will not be forgotten.

Although Argo is retiring, his successor is already on the street, continuing the hard work and carrying on the mission and standard that K9 Argo helped build.

Happy birthday and happy retirement, K9 Argo. Thank you for your service, your loyalty, and the memories made along the way.

We were informed that at some point today utility work will be done on the red-light at Liles ln and US hwy 11 to address the timing of the light.
