**Severe Risk Expanded, Possible Upgrade**
The big question: Will morning showers/thunderstorms exit soon and can cloud coverage break for the sun to come out?
If the answer if yes, and we think it's increasingly possible, then the severe weather threat will increase a bit for today.
Please do not look at this and say it's only a level 2. This could go to level 3 if morning convection can move out quickly.
The current scenario is for thunderstorms to develop near the Mississippi River early this afternoon(12-2PM) then move east into the Illinois River by mid afternoon(3-5PM), I-55 corridor around 4-6PM then I-57 around 5-8PM.
All modes of severe weather are expected with tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail. Any storms that develop and stay isolated can be supercellular.
