••• UPDATE Gordon has been found safe ** July 5th Early Morning

MISSING from Pinnacle Park area on Grove Rd in ARENAC COUNTY. Gordon Shepherd left his home to go cut grass on Focco Rd about noon on July 3rd, he never made it to cut grass or return home. He’s normally in bed by 7pm. He’s driving a 2001 white Z71 cab and half pulling a flat wooden trailer with a John Deer Tractor on it. No phone no gps. He possibly was spotted at the light in Standish heading East. He is starting to forget things and could be anywhere now. People have been out all night searching.

🚨 Flood Recovery Update: Septic System Safety 🚨

District Health Department No. 2 is urging residents in Alcona, Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda counties affected by recent flooding to take precautions with septic systems.

💧 Important Safety Tips:
• If your septic system was submerged, assume it is compromised and not functioning properly
• Avoid using your system as much as possible until conditions improve
• Do NOT pump your tank while the ground is saturated—this can cause serious damage
• Limit water use to prevent overloading the system
• Only flush essential waste
• If you have a lift station, turn off electricity and waterproof connections
• Plug basement drains and seal openings to prevent floodwater intrusion

⚠️ Watch for Warning Signs:
• Slow drains
• Sewage backing up or surfacing outdoors
• Standing water near your drain field

🔧 Next Steps:
If your system was impacted, contact a septic contractor or sanitarian for inspection before returning to normal use.

🧼 If you experience sewage backup, avoid contact and clean safely using proper protective measures.
