🥎 District 6 Little League Softball Tournament Coming to Archer Lodge! 🥎

The Town of Archer Lodge and Johnston County Little League are proud to host the District 6 Little League Softball Tournament at Archer Lodge Town Park June 19–21.

Teams from across the region will compete in the 8U, 10U, and 12U divisions, with winners advancing to state tournament play. This marks the first time Johnston County Little League has hosted a district softball tournament in its history.

Here’s a recap of the June 8th, 2026 Archer Lodge Town Council Special Meeting.

The Archer Lodge Town Council:

- Continued its review of the Recommended FY 2026–27 budget, discussing revenues, expenditures, and Council priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.

- Discussed staffing, employee benefits, and compensation as part of the budget development process.

- Reviewed departmental budgets and provided feedback on a variety of recommended expenditures and projects.

- Considered funding for future planning, infrastructure, public safety, and parks and recreation initiatives.

- Discussed opportunities to reduce costs, defer certain projects, and balance current needs with long-term financial sustainability.

- Provided direction to staff on revisions to the recommended budget and requested additional information on several items for future consideration.

- Continued discussions on the Town’s financial priorities ahead of budget adoption.

- Agreed to continue budget discussions at the June 15, 2026 Town Council Work Session.

💫 The pageant is open to girls who have completed Kindergarten through 3rd Grade. Contestants must meet ONE of the following requirements:
⭐ Live in the North Side Fire District
⭐ Participate in a sport through the Archer Lodge Recreation Department (JCLL, Soccer, etc.)
⭐ Have a parent who is an active member of the ALCC

FY 2026-27 Recommended Budget Overview

The Recommended Budget is balanced with a reduction of the property tax rate of 1.5 cents (from $0.30 per $100 valuation to $0.285 per $100 valuation). The Fiscal Year 2026-27 Recommended Budget was presented to Council and published online on May 18th. The public hearing on the Budget was held on June 1st.

Council will continue discussion of the Budget in a Special Called Meeting on Monday, June 8th at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Here’s a recap of the June 1st, 2026 Archer Lodge Town Council Regular Meeting.

The Archer Lodge Town Council:

- Approved the consent agenda, including minutes from recent meetings, adoption of the Town’s Fund Balance Policy, and renewal of the East Wake TV/PEG Media Partners interlocal agreement.

- Received a presentation on the proposed FY 2026–27 budget, including a recommended property tax rate reduction from 30 cents to 28.5 cents per $100 valuation, continued investment in parks and planning initiatives, and the payoff of two of the Town’s three outstanding loans.

- Held a public hearing on the proposed FY 2026–27 budget and heard comments from residents.

- Discussed the proposed FY 2026–27 budget and agreed to hold an additional budget work session on June 8 before considering adoption. No action was taken on the budget.

- Approved the engagement of May & Place, PA to conduct the Town’s fiscal year 2025–26 financial audit and directed staff to seek competitive bids for audit services for the following year.

- Received updates from staff on ongoing projects, including the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, park improvements, pickleball courts, the parks maintenance building, and upcoming NCDOT presentations on speed limits and the Covered Bridge Road widening project.

- Received updates on personnel recruitment, employee benefits, transportation projects, parks and recreation programming, and other departmental activities.

- Entered closed session to discuss personnel matters and returned to open session with no action.
