Hello Volunteers,

Hope this email finds you well and that you had an enjoyable holiday weekend.

Our monthly weekend volunteer activity is coming up NEXT Saturday! Join us next Saturday, December 14th, at 10am for our 2nd Saturday Volunteer Day in Eureka. We plan to pack over 400 bags for our senior program and sort through the amazing produce we have in stock.

In addition to packing bags for our programs, we are doing something special on this volunteer day. Senator McGuire will put on his annual food drive to benefit Food for People, at the Eureka Safeway next Wednesday (12/11), and we are anticipating bringing in THOUSANDS of pounds in food donations on that day. On our 2nd Saturday Volunteer Day, we will also be sorting through and packing these donations into different categories. Last year, we brought in over 10 TONS of food, and with the help of our amazing volunteers (you!), we were able to sort through those donations in record time. What better way to celebrate the spirit of the holidays than helping out our hungry Humboldt neighbors in need!

No orientation is needed to participate in weekend volunteer events, so feel free to bring the family! RSVP is requested. To RSVP you can either: reply to this email, email: [email protected], or call: 707-445-3166x310. There will be coffee, tea, and snacks and help fuel the fun.

Hope to see you there,
The Food for People Team
