Today, the members of the Arcadia Police Department had the honor of celebrating two very special young ladies during a graduation luncheon — Genesis Clifton, a dedicated member of our Police Explorer Program, and Meagan Joens, the daughter of Captain Joens.

Both of these young women are a part of our APD family, and we could not be more proud of their accomplishment. In today’s world, young people face many challenges and distractions as they grow and prepare for their futures. That is what makes this achievement even more meaningful. Genesis and Meagan remained focused, determined, and committed to reaching the important milestone of graduating high school, and that deserves to be celebrated.

We wish both of them nothing but success and happiness in their future endeavors. No matter where life takes them, they will always be a part of the Arcadia Police Department family, and we will continue cheering them on every step of the way. Congratulations, Genesis and Meagan — your APD family is proud of you both!

During National Police Week, I want to take a moment to recognize the dedicated men and women of the Arcadia Police Department.

Every day, you show up with professionalism, courage, and a commitment to protecting our community. Whether it’s answering calls for service, building relationships with our residents, or standing ready in moments of crisis, your hard work does not go unnoticed. You are the backbone of public safety in Arcadia, and I am proud to serve alongside each of you.

This week also serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers across our nation. We honor and remember the fallen heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty, protecting their communities and upholding the oath we all share. Their legacy lives on through the work we continue to do every day.

To the members of our department—thank you for your service, your resilience, and your steadfast dedication to keeping our community safe.

Stay safe, take care of one another, and continue to lead with integrity.

— Marshal Quinn Jones

Marshal Jones, Sgt. Rios, and Arcadia Police Explorer Genesis had a great time attending the Youth Extravaganza Kickball Tournament and jumping in for a couple rounds with the kids! ⚽️

We are truly thankful for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of such a positive, family-centered event. Moments like these are what community is all about—bringing people together, building relationships, and creating lasting memories for our youth.

A big thank you to Building A Village, Inc. for hosting such a fun and impactful event. On April 17, 2026, at approximately 9:13 am, members of the Arcadia Police Department and DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Jacaranda Trail Apartments in regard to a shooting stemming from a domestic incident. After further investigation, a deceased female was located who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.

A short time later, the suspect, Eric Devon Robinson, was located in the vicinity, and arrested.

At approximately, 1:09 pm, while still on the scene of the homicide, Officers were alerted to a second female in an adjacent building who was not responsive. Officers assessed the scene and it appears that she too had suffered gunshot wounds and was deceased.

The scene is clear at this time and this will remain as an active investigation. This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.

Marshal Quinn Jones would like to thank the members of both agencies for their quick response and thorough communication during the investigation into these senseless acts our community endured today. Marshal Jones extends his appreciation to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance on scene as well as their Crime Scene unit.

Most importantly, to the families of the decedents – our deepest sympathies from everyone at the Arcadia Police Department. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers. May God give both families the strength during this time.

The Arcadia Police Department is proud to recognize National Evidence & Property Control Technique Week which was April 5-11, 2026.

Our Evidence Unit plays a vital role in every case we handle—carefully managing evidence, maintaining chain of custody, and ensuring everything is properly documented and securely stored. Their work may happen behind the scenes, but it makes a difference in every investigation.

Nonetheless, we want to give a special shoutout to Administrative Lieutenant Lewanda Polk and thank her for the many years she has dedicated to our agency. Her experience, professionalism, and commitment do not go unnoticed.

Join us in showing appreciation for our Evidence and Property tech and all she does to support our department and serve our community.

This week, we proudly recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and the incredible dispatchers at the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office.

Behind every call for service is a dispatcher making split-second decisions, offering reassurance to those in need, and ensuring first responders get where they need to go safely. Even without ever seeing the person on the other end, you show strength, empathy, and professionalism in some of the most difficult moments.

You are truly the unseen heroes of public safety. We appreciate your dedication and the steady voice you provide when it matters most. Thank you for being the backbone of our operations 💛🤍

Arcadia PD responded to J’s Wagon Wheel on April 4, 2026, after a domestic disturbance escalated into a stabbing.

Officers quickly assessed the situation, secured those involved, and conducted a thorough investigation that led to the arrest of David Buckwalter. He now faces charges of Domestic Battery and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and is being held at the DeSoto County Jail with no bond.

Another example of our officers working quickly and professionally to keep our community safe.
