🚧 **TRAFFIC ALERT – US 17 LANE CLOSURES** 🚧

On behalf of **Watson Civil Construction** we would like to make residents and motorists aware of upcoming **lane closures on US 17 (Brevard Ave. northbound and DeSoto Ave. southbound) at the intersection of SR 70 WB (Hickory St.).**

📅 **Beginning:** Friday, September 18 at 6:00 PM
📅 **Through:** Monday, September 21
📍 **Location:** US 17 at Hickory Street (SR 70 WB)

These closures are part of ongoing roadway improvements being performed by **Watson Civil Construction** along State Road 70 through Arcadia.

👷‍♂️ Crews will be working to:
• Complete **full-depth pavement restoration** within US 17
• Construct the **new roadway sections at the corners of the US 17 & Hickory St. intersection**

⚠️ **The lane closures will be in effect throughout the weekend.** Motorists are encouraged to use caution, expect possible delays, and allow additional travel time when traveling through this area.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as this important roadway work continues.

Congratulations Arcadia Main Street!

Today, Secretary of State Cord Byrd announced that Arcadia Main Street, located in DeSoto County, has been designated the August 2026 Florida Main Street Program of the Month.

“The success of the Arcadia Main Street program reflects the value of community driven revitalization,” said Secretary of State Cord Byrd. “Through dedicated leadership, strong partnerships, and preserving their historic character, Arcadia has fostered a unique sense of place and a vibrant downtown district. The community’s dedication to patriotism continues to foster foundational freedoms and opportunity throughout the state.”
