Today, on Memorial Day, I pause to honor not only all who gave their lives in service to our nation, but also members of my own family who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

🇺🇸 Norman Brink was killed in action at Cold Harbor in June 1864 during the Civil War. He was my first cousin, five times removed, and is buried in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

🇺🇸 Corporal Harold Shadduck died from wounds suffered in the Argonne Forest in October 1918 during World War I, just weeks before the Armistice. Harold was my first cousin, twice removed, and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

🇺🇸 Also pictured is an East Liverpool Memorial Day Parade around 1920 featuring Spanish-American War veteran Dennis McCarron, my great-grandfather’s brother.

Their sacrifices — and the sacrifices of so many others — must never be forgotten. Today we remember, honor, and give thanks to all who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

This Memorial Day weekend, my wife and I proudly voted in person in the California Primary Election. 🇺🇸🗳️

As we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms, we remember that the right to vote was protected through their sacrifice. The very least we can do to honor them is participate in our democracy and make our voices heard.

If you haven’t voted yet, there’s still time. The last day to vote is June 2.

Please get out and vote — not just for yourself, but in memory of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today.

God bless our fallen heroes, our military families, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸

Today I had the honor of attending the 28th Annual Tribute to Veterans & Military Families here in Arcadia at Arcadia County Park.

As we approach Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms and protecting this great nation. Their courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Thank you to all of the veterans, active-duty service members, military families, organizers, and community members who came together today in unity and remembrance. Events like this remind us how blessed we are to live in the land of the free because of the brave.

May we always honor the fallen, support our veterans, and teach future generations the true meaning of service and sacrifice.

Freedom is never free.

With the recent vacancy created following Eileen Wang no longer serving on the Arcadia City Council, many residents have asked whether I plan to run for the open seat.

Unfortunately, I am unable to run for that position because the vacancy is in a different council district. I currently reside in District 2 and, under the city’s districting system, candidates must live in the district they seek to represent.

I remain fully committed to serving the residents of Arcadia and continuing to speak up on issues involving transparency, accountability, public safety, and honest leadership at City Hall.

Arcadia deserves leaders who will always put the community first, and I will continue doing my part to fight for that vision. I encourage community leaders in District 3 to apply for this open seat.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with encouragement and support to run. It truly means a lot.
