It was a special and exciting day yesterday at Arbuckle Fire!

Jaime Ramirez was celebrated yesterday for his recent promotion to the position of Fire Chief. We were joined by his wife and son, Arbuckle Fire Volunteers, and Members of the Board for a Promotional Badge Pinning Ceremony.

Chief Ramirez has dedicated his service to the Arbuckle-College City community since first becoming a Volunteer Firefighter in 2017. He was later employed by the Arbuckle-College City Fire Protection District in 2021. Throughout his career in this department, he has demonstrated a desire and commitment to continue developing his skills through advanced trainings and applying his knowledge and expertise to each and every call he responds to. This does not go unnoticed by our department as it has a direct impact on members of our community when they need it most.

We sincerely thank him for his time, service, and dedication to this department and our community.

Congratulations, Chief Ramirez!

Before the night ends, we would like to share that it was a very exciting day at Arbuckle Fire.

Donita Hendrix was able to join us for our Board Meeting this morning where we got to recognize her for her work and dedication to our department. Arbuckle Fire was very lucky to have Donita for the time we did and we are very thankful for the work she did.

Additionally, as many of you may recall, Chief Cox was inducted to the Hall of Fame and earned the Fire Chief of the Year award last month through the California Fire Chief’s Association. Word got to Congressman Doug LaMalfa and his office reached out to us with the hope to be able to award Chief Cox with a Congressional Certificate to honor his recent achievements.

Thank you David Morgan for visiting us today to present Chief Cox with a Congressional Certificate. On top of giving him a certificate, on behalf of Congressman Doug LaMalfa, David Morgan gifted Chief Cox with a flag that was flown over the United States Capitol. What an honor!

It sure was a busy month! Every year in October for Fire Prevention Month, our Fire Department schedules visits for Arbuckle Elementary School students to come and learn all about fire safety and prevention. Students learned about the different kinds of emergency calls our firefighters might respond to along with how the siren works and how they get notified of the emergency. They also learned how to responsibly call 9-1-1 when there is an emergency and the importance of knowing their address, how to stop drop and roll, the importance of having working smoke detectors, and much much more.

Thank you Arbuckle Elementary School for your participation. And a special thank you to Tom Robinson, Jaime Ramirez and Belsazar Haro for leading the tours and providing students, parents, and teachers with so much safety information. They go above and beyond to make this a fun learning experience for everyone.
