We are aware of multiple outages across our service area due to severe weather. Our crews are currently responding to reports of numerous trees and power lines down and are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.

SAFETY REMINDER

If you encounter a downed power line:

• ALWAYS assume the line is energized (hot).
• Stay far away from the line and anything it may be touching, including trees, fences, vehicles, or standing water.
• Keep children and pets away from the area.
• Never attempt to move a downed line yourself.
• If a line falls across your vehicle, remain inside if it is safe to do so and call for help.

To you, a power pole may look like a place to post a sign. To utility crews, it’s critical equipment. Nails, staples and tacks can create hazards for lineworkers. Please don’t post signs on utility poles.

We are aware of the outage affecting the Union Grove area. An animal came into contact with our equipment, causing the outage. While we work diligently to keep our system maintained and reliable, unfortunately situations involving nature can still occur from time to time.

Crews are currently working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible, and we hope to have service restored momentarily. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Heatstroke is a medical emergency, and it can happen faster than you think. Take a moment to recognize the warning signs of heatstroke:
High body temperature
Headache or nausea
Hot, dry skin
Slurred speech
Rapid, strong pulse
Confusion or unconsciousness

We’ve taken the hassle out of reporting an outage!

If your power goes out, simply text “OUTAGE” to 55050 and our system will instantly notify us that your location is without power.

For the system to work properly, we must have the correct phone number connected to your account. If your number has changed or you’re unsure what we have on file, please call our office at 256-586-3196 to update your information.

Keeping your contact information current helps us respond to outages faster and more efficiently!
