Aptos High School Class of 2002

Aptos High School Class of 2002 Home of the Mariners Aptos High School is a comprehensive secondary school in Aptos, California, USA in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District.

Aptos High serves the communities of Rio Del Mar, Corralitos, Seacliff, Seascape, La Selva Beach, Buena Vista and Watsonville. Historically, Aptos has been one of the largest high schools in the county, but recently other district schools Watsonville High School and Pajaro Valley High School have surpassed its enrollment. In addition to standard curriculum, Aptos High School offers video productio

n, computer technology, and various other courses. Recently some of the music classes, such as guitar, were dropped due to cuts in the California school budget. As of 2008 Aptos High School has a new Performing Arts Center, where school plays are performed. It also has a neighboring second gymnasium used for multiple sports. The campus includes a disc golf course that is open to the public outside of school hours.

Hello to everyone! As everyone knows due to and following the pandemic and shutdowns life has been different and so difficult for many of us. However, I wouldn't want us deprived (if you will) of a proper 20 year high school reunion (20 YEARS!!). Safely we can make this happen, and even simply. Wanted to reach out to get thoughts on timing, potential location, etc. for next year. This doesn't have to be Romy and Michelle, or the most elaborate reunion of a lifetime ... what's important is that those that can get together do, so let's make this happen, together. All suggestions welcome.

It is crazy to think that the class of 2002 graduated almost 20 years ago! Let's try (but not in the way that I failed as an organizer) plan something that is simple, fun, and easy to just attend/do. 2022 is nearing, and it would be great for all of us to see each other. There is a lot to unpack in general, our social climate (if you will) is very different from when we were at AHS. The world (for truly the better) is changing -- and the best kind of reunion would be one where everyone is honest, open-minded, empathetic, and understanding of equality and systemic change. Any hypotheticals and ideas are appreciated, this doesn't have to be Romy and Michele's HS Reunion. This could simply be "Time, Place, Go!". Just curious of ANY ideas, including ... how is everyone?!

Due to extremely low ticket sales (8) we have no choice but to postpone our 10 year reunion to a later date. We will be fully refunding all tickets that have been purchased. We are however inviting those who would still like to visit with some old friends, to an unofficial 2002 get-together at the Crows Nest (Oct 6th). This saddens us greatly to have to announce this news. We the committee have been very dedicated and have worked very hard to have everything in place for a fabulous event. Unfortunately the numbers just weren't there. We truly hope to see those who were able to attend at the Crow's Nest. If you have ANY questions please do not hesitate to ask. In time I will create a direct AHS 2002 Alumni specific email, but figured it's not quite necessary as of right now considering the reunion is not for a long while.
