📚 Why Does Attendance Matter? 🏫

Attendance might seem like a simple thing, just showing up to school, but every day really does count! ⭐

When students are at school, they have more opportunities to:

✅ Learn new things and keep up with their classmates
🤝 Build relationships with teachers and friends
🗣️ Practice communication and social skills
🎯 Work toward their goals and future plans
🎉 Celebrate successes and discover things they are good at
💪 Build the habits and confidence they need for life after high school

Missing a day here and there can seem like no big deal, but those days can add up quickly. 📅 When students miss school, they can miss lessons, assignments, conversations, activities, and even those little moments that help them feel connected. ❤️

The goal isn't perfect attendance; it's helping students get to school as often as possible and making sure they know that their presence matters. 🌟

The Club's TRAC (Truancy Reduction & Assessment Center) team works to build positive relationships with youth through case management, while empowering them to build life skills, encourage attendance, and address underlying attendance barriers.

Sharing the Love, one conversation, one cleat, and one kid at a time. 👟💚

Last week, Jordan Love spent some time answering some questions from the kids and sharing more about the mission behind his 10ve for Cleats campaign. Youth also put their creativity to work by designing their own cleats, with one winning design selected by Jordan to be worn during an upcoming Green Bay Packers game as part of the NFL's My Cause My Cleats initiative!

For every touchdown Love scores this season, he'll be providing cleats to a Wisconsin sports team and one in his hometown in California. Over the past two years, Love has donated more than 2,000 pairs of cleats to youth through this campaign.

We'll be cheering him on and tracking Green Bay Packers touchdowns, as he strives to bring that total up to 5,000 this season.

Thank you to the team at U.S. Venture, Inc, Capital Credit Union, and Capture Sports & Entertainment for helping make this opportunity possible and supporting youth through this impactful campaign.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Wisconsin has been selected as one of 10 Wisconsin nonprofits featured in Game Changing Players — a new community program created by the Green Bay Packers and Thrivent to highlight organizations strengthening their communities. 🫶

🏈During last Friday's Packer game, we were especially honored to have Evangelina, our local and state Youth of the Year winner, recognized for her journey and accomplishments. This was a special moment and her first time experiencing Lambeau!

This past Thursday, our Lead Agency team, which supports Boys & Girls Clubs across the state, was proud to host our fourth annual Be Great: Graduate Summit. This event brought together more than 40 dedicated team members representing over 20 Boys & Girls Clubs across Wisconsin. The Summit provided a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the past year, celebrate successes, build connections, and look ahead to the year to come.

The Summit was a great example of the collaboration and commitment happening across our Clubs. By sharing experiences, challenges, and ideas, we continue to strengthen our work together and find new ways to support youth and help them be great and graduate!

Thank you to New York Life Insurance Company and our amazing New York Life agent, Cindi Ritcey Fox, Financial Adviser for the generous Community Impact Grant which supports Connections Grief Center. Together, we can continue to provide hope and healing for youth and families. From family nights, to peer support groups, and community outreach, we are proud to offer a safe place for children, teens and their families to find compassionate support, engage in commemorative activities, gain information about the grieving process, and express feelings and experiences in an accepting environment. Thank you to New York Life for investing in grief support and helping ensure that no child or family has to navigate grief alone.

At Club, we're all about providing kids with safe places to belong, full of fun and engaging opportunities to learn and grow, and caring adults who believe in them. Our Clubs support youth (ages 6-18 - varies by location) in Appleton, Neenah, Menasha, Little Chute, and Manitowoc. Daily meals/snacks are also provided.

From sports and recreation 🏀, fine arts 🎭, small group discussions 💬, leadership and community service 🤝, to STEM 🚀—and much, much more—there’s something for everyone to enjoy and explore this year! 🌟

☀️ During Summer Program, we love bringing the fun, and sometimes that means getting Club staff in on the action! 🏐💥

Last month, members at our Menasha Club teamed up for a thrilling, high-energy volleyball showdown against staff. The competition was fierce, the rallies were intense, and the smiles were nonstop! 😄👏

Moments like these help build strong connections, create lasting memories, and remind us that a little friendly competition can go a long way. 💙💛

☀️🚌 This summer, Club members took home more than just souvenirs from their adventures. From exploring the wonders of the NEW Zoo 🦒, Planetarium 🌟, and Ledgeview Nature Center 🌿 to building confidence through roller skating 🛼 and bowling 🎳, youth created unforgettable memories, formed meaningful friendships 🤝, and discovered new interests along the way. While summer may be coming to a close, the laughter, experiences, and connections made will last long after the final bus ride. 💙✨
