Some Town of Apex customers received two notifications this morning related to their water service.

The first was a message to those subscribed to ReadyWake alerts. This message was targeted to Town of Cary customers regarding a water main break in their service area, but reached some Apex customers due to our proximity.

In addition, a notification was triggered through Apex's outage management system. This message was sent in error - those same customers should have received a notification that service was restored.

Please note that Apex service is not impacted - Apex customers can continue using water as normal.

***Please Note: Some Apex customers may have received an outage text message around 9:00 am. Customers can disregard this message. Apex water service is not impacted. Water remains safe to use.***

Our neighbors in Cary and Morrisville are experiencing low pressure and a boil water advisory due to a water main break. Please note that Apex water service is not impacted by this incident.

โš ๏ธ System Pressure Advisory Issued Following Water Main Break on N.C. 55

A System Pressure Advisory is in effect for water customers in Cary and Morrisville within the Central Pressure Zone following a 30-inch water main break early this morning.

๐Ÿ’ง Affected customers are advised to boil water used for human consumption for one minute or use bottled water while the advisory is in effect. Customers are also strongly encouraged to conserve water whenever possible.

๐Ÿšง N.C. 55 is closed in both directions between Jenks Road/Old Jenks Road and Lewey Drive/Turner Creek Road. One lane in each direction is expected to reopen by 7 a.m., conditions permitting.

The advisory will remain in effect through at least 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, September 15. Weโ€™ll provide another update by noon today and share additional information as conditions change.

Twenty-five years ago, the events of September 11th forever changed our nation.

Today, we reflected on the lives lost on 9/11, the heroes who ran toward danger, and honored the loved ones who carry forward their legacy of sacrifice and service.

We invite you to pause and honor their memory right here in Apex.

The next time you walk by our Service Memorial at the corner of Salem and Saunders Streets, take a moment to reflect. The memorial is a quiet reminder of courage and strength in the face of tragedy, anchored by a 6-inch steel cube recovered from the World Trade Centerโ€™s South Tower.

To the first responders who continue to answer the call to keep your communities safe - thank you just isn't enough.

We will never forget.

Did you find your pick? ๐Ÿ‘‡ Thereโ€™s something for every type of volunteer during Think Apex Day on September 12th!

Dedicate some time to help us bring this annual day of service to life. Bring a friend, a group, or come solo (high schoolers, this is a great way to earn volunteer hours). We would love to see our community show up!
