SCAM ALERT ⚠️
The City of Apalachicola has been made aware of fraudulent emails being sent regarding alleged “application approval fees” for residential construction projects. Please be advised:
• The City does NOT request wire transfers through unofficial email correspondence.
• The City does NOT require applicants to “reply for settlement advice” or send payment receipts by email to finalize approvals.
• Official City communications regarding permits, applications, and fees are handled through established City departments and verified procedures.

If you receive suspicious emails requesting payment, wire transfers, or personal information:
✔️ Do not send money
✔️ Do not provide personal or banking information
✔️ Do not click suspicious links or attachments

Residents are encouraged to contact City Hall directly to verify any communication claiming to be from the City or its representatives. Please help spread awareness to protect others in our community from scams and fraudulent activity. All official emails from the City of Apalachicola will come from an ".com" email.

Apalachicola city water quality test results continue to meet state and federal drinking water standards.

Progress
Currently, Wells # 5 and 7 are operational and on-line. Well # 6 is operational but not on-line.

At the plant, levels ranged from 1.81 - 3.43 ppm.

A big thank you to our Public Works Department for the storm drain repair and maintenance work being completed out in the field. These efforts are essential in keeping our drainage systems functioning properly and helping to prevent flooding throughout our community.

We appreciate the hard work, dedication, and continued commitment of our Public Works team —thank you for all that you do!

📢 New Office Hours – Utility Billing Department

Please be advised that the Utility Billing Department at City Hall will now close daily at 4:00 PM to allow staff time to reconcile and balance accounts. Customers are encouraged to submit payments using the drop box located downstairs or through the online customer payment portal.

🌿 City of Apalachicola Yard Waste Pickup Reminder

The City of Apalachicola would like to remind residents of the following guidelines to help keep yard waste pickup running smoothly throughout our community:
• Keep yard debris separate — do not mix with household trash or other materials
• Piles must not exceed 4 feet high, 4 feet wide, and 8 feet long
• Limbs and branches must be 6 inches in diameter or smaller
• All leaves must be bagged
• Lawn care companies are responsible for removing debris they create
• Keep piles neat and compact for easier collection
• Do not place yard waste under low branches or power lines

Your cooperation helps keep our city clean, safe, and beautiful. Thank you for doing your part, Apalachicola!
