Today, AJPD and SFMD joined Avalon Charter School K-8 for its annual Patriot Day ceremony, honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the first responders who answered the call.🇺🇸

We’re grateful to them for continuing this meaningful tradition and for giving our local first responders such a special welcome each year.

Thank you to the students and staff for helping ensure the significance of September 11 is never forgotten❤️🤍💙

25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸
Today, we honor the 2,977 lives lost, the survivors, and the first responders who answered the call on September 11, 2001.
For the fire service, the legacy of that day remains especially close to our hearts. We remember the courage of those who ran toward danger, the sacrifice of those who never returned home, and the countless acts of bravery and selflessness witnessed that day.
Their courage, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

This morning, we had the honor of joining Avalon Elementary once again for their Patriot Day ceremony. Students, staff, first responders, and community members came together to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and recognize the service and sacrifice of those who answered the call that day.

As part of the ceremony, Avalon Elementary honored our local first responder agencies, presenting each with a commemorative plaque in recognition of their service and leadership within our community. We are incredibly grateful for the thoughtful gesture and for the continued effort Avalon’s students and staff put into ensuring the significance of Patriot Day is passed on to the next generation.

Over the past couple of months, our Technical Rescue Team members have been training alongside crews from across the automatic-aid system in swift-water rescues.

While Arizona may be known for its dry climate, monsoon season can quickly change conditions. Heavy rainfall can turn normally dry washes and roadways into fast-moving, dangerous waterways in a matter of minutes. ⚡Here in Apache Junction, our numerous washes make preparing for these incidents especially important.
Swift-water rescue requires specialized skills, equipment, and coordination. Training together allows our crews to practice those skills before an emergency happens and ensures agencies across the Valley are prepared to work seamlessly when additional resources are needed.

Happy Labor Day from Superstition Fire & Medical District! 🇺🇸
Today, we recognize the hard work and dedication of the men and women who serve our community every day.

At SFMD, we’re proud of the strong relationship between labor and management. While we may have different roles within our organization, we share the same goals: supporting our members, strengthening our department, and providing the best possible service to our community.
Strong relationships are built on communication, mutual respect, and a willingness to work together, and we’re grateful for the partnership that continues to move our organization forward.

Yesterday, members of Superstition Fire & Medical District joined firefighters and community members from across the Valley for the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Salt River Fields.
Together, we climbed 110 floors, in full gear, in honor of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, and in remembrance of all those whose lives were lost that day.
We’re proud to take part in this event each year and honor the firefighters who answered the call that morning, climbed toward those who needed them, and ultimately made the greatest sacrifice.
Thank you to Salt River Firefighters for continuing this meaningful tradition and allowing us to climb in their honor. 🇺🇸

Your SFMD Firefighters recently helped restock the pediatric toy closet at HonorHealth Four Peaks, one of the hospitals our crews frequently transport patients to. When a pediatric patient finds themselves in the emergency department, they’ll have the opportunity to choose a toy, something small that can make their day a little better.
The toy closet was fully funded through the generous support of and fundraising efforts by Superstition Firefighter Charities through our Charities Fourth of July T-shirts.
A huge thank you to all of our SFMD members who purchased shirts—many buying multiple—and to the members of our community who purchased shirts and helped support this project. Every shirt sold helped us put something back into the community we serve.
We’re grateful for the partnerships and support that made this project possible and helped us take care of some of our smallest patients. ❤️🚒
