๐Ÿ’™ You Are Not Alone ๐Ÿ’™

September is Su***de Awareness Month, a reminder that help and hope are always within reach. If you or someone you know is struggling, the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988, or through online chat. Trained counselors are available to listen and provide support.

๐Ÿ“Œ Other important resources:
โœ”๏ธ 211: Connect with local community resources and support throughout Arizona
โœ”๏ธ 911: Call for immediate emergencies

If you or someone you know is struggling, reaching out can make a difference. Letโ€™s continue showing up for one another and building a stronger, more supportive Apache Junction.

Itโ€™s a great day in Apache Junction! ๐ŸŒŸ

As Apache Junction continues to grow, the city is expanding its facilities and amenities to maintain service levels and quality of life for all of our residents!

This expansion will bring exciting new opportunities to everyone in the community, including:
๐Ÿš” A new police substation, which will help improve emergency response times and provide additional space for public safety resources.
๐ŸŒณ A new community park featuring a stocked fishing lake, adventure playground, sports fields, walking paths, fitness equipment and a new space for community events and gatherings.
๐Ÿ“š A new 15,000-square-foot library featuring a state-of-the-art makerspace and innovation studio, demonstration kitchen, a reading deck overlooking the lake and an outdoor playground.
๐ŸŽ‰ New community programs and activities will also be coming as these facilities take shape.

And thereโ€™s an important piece behind this growth: these expanded amenities are primarily funded through development fees paid by new development, meaning the growth is paying for itself! This allows the city to continue to invest responsibly in expanded services and amenities as our community grows.

Thereโ€™s a lot to look forward to in Apache Junction, and this is just the beginning!

Itโ€™s ! ๐Ÿ“ธ Letโ€™s take a trip back to 2017, when a familiar Apache Junction landmark got a major upgrade.

On October 27, 2017, the new Fryโ€™s Marketplace at 150 E. Old West Highway officially opened its doors, replacing the smaller Fryโ€™s Food & Drug store that had previously stood across the street.

At 124,693 square feet, the new Marketplace was much more than a bigger grocery store. Compared with a traditional Fryโ€™s, the location brought expanded specialty food and beverage options, including sushi, a chef-inspired bistro, Murrayโ€™s Cheese, an extensive wine department, Starbucks and fresh bakery and prepared foods. It also added expanded non-food departments, a 20-pump fuel center with diesel and propane, and additional pharmacy and financial services.

The opening was a significant addition to Apache Junction, bringing new shopping, dining and everyday services to the community.

Nearly nine years later, the Fryโ€™s Marketplace has become a familiar part of daily life in Apache Junction. Itโ€™s hard to imagine the area without it!

What do you remember about Apache Junction before the Marketplace opened?
