Antwerp Primary School Tomorrow's future begins here, today! Antwerp Primary is one of five primary schools in the Indian River Central School District.

We are located in the northern part of the school district and Jefferson County while traveling on State Route 11. Approximately 64% of our students come from military families residing on Fort Drum, NY, with the rest of our students from our local area. Our curriculum is delivered through the most recent advances in primary level education. This includes the use of a broad range of technologies,

a research-based reading program, as well as a wide variety of strategies to accommodate the learning needs of each individual child, whether that be the need of remedial help, or advanced learning opportunities. An abundance of special services are delivered by certified reading specialists, special education teachers, a school counselor, a school psychologist, a school social worker, and a full-time registered nurse. Even further, teaching assistants and teacher aides provide additional instruction and assistance to augment the instructional program at all grade levels. This year, Indian River High School established the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, where 30 students are developing leadership skills through ACTION. They participated in a "One Million Book Giveaway" alongside schools nationwide, packaging books for students in need. Our IR team was then tasked with selecting recipient schools, Antwerp was lucky enough to be one of the recipients chosen.

We are incredibly proud of our high school students for their outstanding leadership and generosity. Their dedication to supporting our 2nd-grade readers through the recent book donation event was truly inspiring. Watching older students step up as role models—sharing their love of reading and giving back to younger learners—made this a moment our whole school community can celebrate.

Thank you for your kindness, your initiative, and your awesome example of what it means to lead with heart. What an amazing event!

👔National Necktie Day👔 is celebrated each year in October, and last week our Antwerp Primary School family came together to celebrate this day in memory of our beloved school counselor Dave Young, who passed away earlier this year. Dave had an extensive collection of ties that were as bright, colorful, and full of goofy humor as he was. It was wonderful to see so many silly ties honoring Dave that day, which was full of smiles, laughter, and yes, a few tears. Dave's impact on Antwerp will be felt for many years to come, and we were so happy that Necktie Day gave us the chance to honor him in a way that brought so much joy to our school. 💖

Just one dot can start a masterpiece! 🎨🌍 Antwerp Primary School was buzzing with energy as we celebrated International Dot Day this year!

This special event encourages students to "make their mark and see where it takes you," and our Antwerp students truly embraced that spirit. They collaborated on projects, found the courage to try new things, and created art that is uniquely theirs.

We owe a special round of applause to the incredible Mrs. Carlow, who spearheaded the entire celebration. Her passion and dedication made this an unforgettable day for our students. Thank you, Mrs. Carlow!
