Pushmataha County Chamber of Commerce

Pushmataha County Chamber of Commerce Nestled between the Jack Mountains and the Kiamichi Mountains, Pushmataha County is a paradise for those who hunt and fish and who love the outdoors.

"To promote economic growth in Pushmataha County by supporting and developing local businesses, enhancing civic initiatives, and improving the overall quality of life through a stronger, more resilient economy." It is the heart of deer country and a mecca for hunting and fishing. Pushmataha County is a popular area for fall foliage and spring dogwood tours. Nature lovers and sportmen enjoy an abun

dant supply of fish, birds, and wildlife and plenty of unspoiled trails, mountains, creeks, rivers and lakes. Look for the Potatoe Hills, Oklahoma’s oldest geological feature, just northeast of Sardis Lake. The county was named after Choctaw Chief Pushmataha (Push-ma-ta-ha) meaning “Sprout Completed.” Born in 1764, Pushmataha was known in the Southwest as an outstanding individual and as a warrior. He

knew very little of the parentage tradition stating he was left an orphan at an early age. Pushmataha was said to be one of nature’s nobility, a man who would have adorned any society, a warrior of great distinction, wise in council and eloquent in an extraordinary degree. Hunting, fishing, camping and boating are available at Sardis Lake and Clayton Lake in Clayton and Ozzie Cobb Lake near Rattan. All attractions in their own right, they are best known as bass hot-spots to fishermen. The Kiamichi and Little Rivers are particularly known for float trips, tubing, fishing and a secluded atmosphere for those wanting to get away from it all. Deer, turkey, quail and squirrel hunters are sure to appreciate the Pushmataha Wildlife Area near Clayton. Pushmataha County is the home of the first political capitol of the Choctaw Nation, located in Tuskahoma, where everyone is invited to the annual Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival. Travelers to Pushmataha County, find themselves in the heart of the “Deer Capital of the World,” where families, sportsmen and travelers can visit and enjoy unique sights and events of Antlers, such as the Hunters Welcome Station in November and the Antlers Deer Festival in mid-October. Tuskahoma, located about 40 miles northeast of Antlers, is the host to the Choctaw Nation’s Capitol Building. This three-story building was erected in 1884 and houses a fascinating museum and gift shop (see back cover). In Antlers, the Depot is home to the County’s Historical Society & Museum, and also visit our antique shops, golf course and specialty dining. The Pushmataha Wildlife Refuge and Honobia Creek Wildlife Management area offer a diverse choice of wildlife and outdoor activities. The Kiamichi and Little Rivers, Sardis, Clayton and Ozzie Cobb Lakes have water-related activities for everyone. Fishing is the best in Oklahoma. Golfing at one of our tree-covered courses is a great way to begin or end the perfect day. Horse, 4×4 and hiking trails are available for those who like to get close and personal with the great outdoors. A choice of lodging, including cabins, bed & breakfasts, motels, RV and tent camping, and great restaurants – all makes spending time here a fun event! Shopping in Push County is as unusual as the restaurants. From antiques to unique gifts – many made in the area – Pushmataha County are fun places to shop.

These guys are always showing and showing out. Thank you Antlers Motorsports for making the Christmas Parade a hit.

Antlers Motorsports has had a busy holiday week — and a memorable one.
They took home 1st place in the Christmas Parade with a perfect score of 25, and earlier in the week they welcomed Moyers School students to the dealership for carols, games, and Christmas fun.

Here’s a quick highlight showing some of the moments that made their week — and our community — shine.
More parade and Christmas in the Park videos coming soon.

Antlers lit up the streets last night with a true Winter Wonderland parade — but one float in particular stole the show.

Congratulations to Antlers Motorsports, whose Winter Wonderland–themed float was the hit of the parade, their snow globe with Frosty inside, and the Grinch ripping it up on the streets in his mini three wheeler, made it one of the most creative and memorable entries of the night. Their performance earned a perfect 25/25 score and the 2025 Parade Champion trophy!

🏆 1st – Antlers Motorsports (Perfect Score)
🥈 2nd – Antlers Housing Authority
🥉 3rd – Atoka Trail Riders Club

This year’s parade was packed with standout creativity — from Lloyd Newton’s massive tractor pull display to the one-point showdown between Serenity Behavioral Health and the Trail Riders for third place. Many said it was the best parade Antlers has seen in years.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to all who lined the streets to enjoy the magic. What a way to kick off the holiday season!

Today we’re proud to spotlight 5B Rock-N-Road Dirtworks, owned by lifelong Antlers resident Brad Rashears. Brad is one of those people who quietly keeps this community moving — from hauling loads across the county to stepping in during emergencies, like helping locate and repair major water leaks a few years back.

You’ll often see him on the road in his dump truck, always working and always waving. And tonight, his little boy will be riding his ATV in the Christmas Parade — a great example of how deeply their family is rooted in Antlers.

Thank you, Brad, for your commitment to our community.
Supporting local businesses like 5B keeps Antlers strong.
