Beginning June 18, 2026, the Antioch Historical Museum will be temporarily closed to the public through July 31, 2026. During this time, our historic 1910 building is getting a fresh exterior paint job, minor repairs, and important behind the scenes upgrades to modernize our operations.
Because of insurance requirements, the Antioch Sports Legends Hall of Fame, located inside the museum, will also be closed during this period.
This temporary closure marks the start of an exciting new chapter — one that honors Antioch’s past while investing in its future. We’re grateful for your patience and support as we make these improvements, and we can’t wait to welcome you back soon.

On Saturday, June 6, the City of Antioch's Public Safety & Community Resources Department hosted a successful Community Peace Walk at Sycamore Plaza in Antioch, bringing together more than 50 residents, youth, families, community leaders, and partners in support of peace, healing, and violence prevention.

The Peace Walk was organized to raise awareness about the impact of gun violence, honor the lives lost to gun violence, and encourage our community to break cycles of violence through collective action, compassion, and partnership. Participants came together to affirm a shared commitment to creating a safer Antioch and to work alongside one another to turn that vision into reality.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the community members who came out with passion and purpose, demonstrating Antioch's commitment to building a stronger and more connected community. We also thank our community-based organization partners for their continued support and collaboration.

Special appreciation goes to the Antioch Police Oversight Commission for its alignment and partnership, the Antioch Police Department for its coordination and support, PSCR staff for their leadership and dedication, Mayor Ron Bernal and Councilwoman Tamisha Torres-Walker for their ongoing advocacy and commitment to community violence prevention efforts.

The strong turnout and positive energy throughout the event reflected the power of community partnership and the collective belief that, by working together, Antioch can continue advancing peace, healing, and safety for all.

The City of Antioch's Housing Division attended the National Shared Housing Conference, in Oakland, CA, organized by Bay Area Community Services (BACS) in partnership with the Shared Housing Institute Monday, June 8th & Tuesday June 9th. The day and a half training taught practical tools and strategies to strengthen shared housing programs and promote long‑term housing stability by blending real‑world examples with hands‑on planning support. We learned how to build autonomy, connection, strengthen housing‑focused, relationship‑centered practices & start to prepare for a national landscape where traditional funding for shelters and transitional housing may change in the future.
