Fall may be approaching, but with temperatures still feeling a lot like summer, it’s the perfect time to look back at some warm-weather adventures in the Wolf River area. 🌲☀️

From hiking and mountain biking through the Northwoods to floating on the river, casting a fly into the pristine water, and simply soaking in the beauty of the Wolf River, summer here is all about getting outside and making the most of it.

As we transition into fall, keep in mind that many local outfitters have already closed for the season. So consider this video a little summer sendoff—and some inspiration for next year’s Wolf River adventures.

👉 As always ride safe by wearing your helmets and seatbelts, knowing the rules and riding sober. New rules went into enforcement this summer including operators and passengers are all required to wear a seatbelt in a UTV and no person may operate or be a passenger in an ATV or UTV without wearing glasses, goggles, or a protective face shield (with the exception of machines with windshields.)

The Stumble Stump Rendezvous is happening along the Springbrook Trail this weekend – Sept 10-13, 2026.

🏕️ What is it? It’s a camp full of re-enactors of the fur trapping and trading era of the 1800s. Volunteers dress in period clothes and perform demonstrations, including candle making, leather working, cooking, hawk & knife throwing, and black powder demonstrations. In the evening, enjoy the glow of campfires.

📍Where is it? West of the North Virginia Springbrook Trail Entrance (just north of the Springbrook Trail between North Elementary and North Virginia Street Dead End).

🦫The Wisconsin Trappers Association Fall Rendezvous is happening September 11 & 12. Stop by the Langlade County Fairgrounds to explore Wisconsin’s rich trapping traditions while learning more about furs, skinning, trapping techniques, equipment, and more.
