Families gathered for our Thriving Kids Home Visiting of Southern NM program Winter Wonderland celebration. It was a joyful afternoon of connection, play, laughter and care.

Mildred M. Winter believed that every child deserves a strong start—and that support should begin before birth. In the early 1980s, she founded Parents as Teachers, transforming a bold idea into a global model for home visiting and early childhood support.

Born in St. Louis in 1920,Mildred’s legacy lives on in every family we serve, in all 50 states and beyond.
