That is the key. The night before, commit to your plan, especially the key tasks, for the next day. Try it and you’ll see how much easier it is. Less self negotiation, less self doubt, more winning the day.

Forty years ago today, running back Joe Delaney gave up his life for three total strangers.

June 29, 1983. A trio of boys got into a man-made pond at a park in Delaney’s home state of Louisiana. They struggled. Delaney did not hesitate to try to help:

“I can’t swim good, but I’ve got to save those kids,” Joe Delaney said as he headed for the water. “If I don’t come up, get somebody.”

One of the boys made it to safety. Two others drowned. Joe Delaney drowned, too, leaving behind a wife and three young daughters.

He was only 24.

Today, we remember Joe Delaney, a HERO who gave up his life for others. You will never be forgotten, Joe.

I'm proud of what the Town of Anthony has accomplished the last 8 years.

Eight years ago, when I was first elected, the Town of Anthony was years behind on their audits, used the income from the Water/Sewer budget to offset the loss in the General Funds Budget (over $350K), there were no employee pay scales, and really no plan - just to name a few of the many items we encountered. It took longer than I had expected, especially with finances, however the future looks better and better.

The last 7-8 months has been a very trying and difficult time not just for the Town, but for me, personally. Integrity has always been my #1 Value and my and the Town's integrity has been tested more in this last 7-8 months, than in the previous 7+ years.

This is why I decided to run for Town Council for one more term. The Department Heads will need continued support, the finances will need to be on an even more solid footing, and people will need support when accountability is questioned. Although not always pleasant to be the one to have to remind people about the rules and accountability, it is necessary and something I've never shied away from.

So, if you are happy with the direction of the Town of Anthony, while wanting someone who is not afraid to hold integrity and accountability as THE standard, I would appreciate your support in this upcoming election.

At tonight’s meeting, we had a tabled motion from last meeting. When we went to discuss, we were told that the over $9,800.00 of tax payer funds had already been used.

Not only was this a tabled motion, with the decision to spend not yet decided, but then we were told the funds came from the Park line items and not the Streets line items.

The over $9,800.00 was used to clean Wildcat street and the Town of Anthony sign, which are streets, not Parks.

At a previous meeting, we were informed that raises had already been paid before they were officially approved.

I’m ashamed and embarrassed for our Town.
