Students are more likely to attend regularly when they feel safe, supported and connected.

Ms. Woods, our longtime school nurse, and SRO Langley are two of the caring adults who help make that possible. Whether helping students stay healthy, offering encouragement or providing a safe and supportive presence, they show up for our students every day.

Sometimes, helping a student attend regularly begins with making sure they know someone at school cares that they are there.

Ms. Woods’ shirt says it all: We❀️Public Schools. And in Anson County Public Schools, we love, serve and support ALL students.

This work directly supports Strategic Plan Priority I: Student Learning & Success and Goal 1.4: Anson County Schools will reduce chronic absenteeism by 15%.

The why? Caring adults like Ms. Woods and SRO Langley help students feel safe, healthy, encouraged and connected. That support can make the difference in helping a student attend regularly and arrive ready to learn.

Every day matters. Every student matters. Make it count!

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and attendance is directly connected to our 2026–2031 Strategic Plan: Priority I Student Learning & Success.

🎯 Goal 1.4: Reduce chronic absenteeism by 15%. Our work includes monitoring attendance daily, connecting with families when concerns arise, providing interventions and support, and helping students build the skills they need to stay engaged in school.

Why? Because attendance isn't just about being in a seat. Students have to be present to learn, connected to grow, and engaged to succeed.
