Yesterday, we celebrated National Police K9 Day, and there’s no better time to recognize one of our own.

Tracking. Searching. Protecting. Responding.

And right beside him every step of the way is Officer Fowler, building the trust, putting in the hours, and working together to make this team stronger every day.

We are incredibly proud to have Officer Fowler and K9 Rip representing the Ansonia Police Department and serving our community.

Anthony Rush has been located and is safe. The Ansonia Police Department appreciates all your help with this.

The Ansonia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing person who left his home on the 25th around 9:00PM on 8/25/2026.
Anthony Rush is a 15-year-old male, approximately 5’4” tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black jeans.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Ansonia Police Department at 203-735-1885.

School is almost back!

Ansonia Public Schools return on Thursday, August 27th, and we want to remind everyone that the start of the school year means more children, buses, pedestrians, and traffic on our roads.

Please slow down, stay alert, put the phone away, and be especially cautious in school zones and around school buses. Remember: getting there a few minutes later is always better than not getting there at all.

The Ansonia Police Department is proud to share this important safety PSA from the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT). We thank them for helping communities across Connecticut promote safe driving as we head back to school.

The Ansonia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing person, Mildred Soto-Guzman, age 40, who was last spoken to on August 11th, 2026.
Soto-Guzman is described as being approximately 5'4" tall, weighing 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing wearing black leggings, a black shirt, and possibly sneakers

Yuridea is described as being approximately 5'3" to 5'4" tall, weighing 118 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black leggings, and black sneakers.
