🚒 Work Day at Anson VFD! 🚒

Not every day at the fire department involves a fire call — sometimes it’s about making sure we’re ready when that call comes.

Today our firefighters spent the day giving our apparatus some much-needed attention. We vacuumed out the trucks, blew out the air filters, and washed our trucks from top to bottom.

Keeping our equipment clean, maintained, and ready to go is an important part of being prepared for whatever our community may need.

A clean truck may not put out a fire, but a well-maintained truck helps make sure we’re ready to fight the fire when the tones drop. 🔥🚒

Thank you to all of our volunteers who gave up part of their day to help keep your Anson Fire Department ready to serve! ❤️

Prepared. Maintained. Ready.

🚒 Fire Call Update

Anson Fire was dispatched tonight for a report of a large, glowing fire in the area of Twin Bridges.

Our firefighters checked the reported area but were unable to locate any fire in or around Twin Bridges. We later learned that the Texas A&M Forest Service was working a fire in the area with another local fire department.

We believe the glow from that fire may have been visible from the Twin Bridges area, leading to the report.

We appreciate the caller taking the time to report what they saw. If you see something that looks like a fire, please don’t hesitate to call 911. It’s always better to have firefighters check it out than to assume it’s nothing.

🔥🚒 Stay safe, Anson!

This morning Anson VFD was paged out to a MVA on FM 707. We had personnel respond and arrive on scene.
There was no entrapment, but were serious injury. We had enough man power on scene to do what needed to be done, So command held up the response with our Trucks. Chief and Ast Chief stayed on scene and assisted EMS and The SO with loading the patient. Once this was completed we cleared the scene.
Anson VFD always answers the call for assistance.

Thanks all that were involved in helping get this patient loaded and transported. A Special thanks to Jones County SO and their deputies.

Tonight's gathering transformed our usual Monday night meeting and training session into a productive repair initiative, revitalizing our brush truck's front bumper that had endured wear and tear. Note: these are not the only people that worked on the truck just the ones I got a picture of.

🥎✨ ONE OF ANSON’S FAVORITE NIGHTS IS BACK ✨🥎

There’s just something special about this time of year… lawn chairs lined up, kids running and laughing, friends catching up, and the whole community gathered around the ball field. ❤️

The 6th Annual Jones County Softball Tournament is coming up May 6–8 at the Anson Bluebonnet Softball Facility, and it’s one of those events we all look forward to year after year.

Yes—you’ll see some friendly competition out on the field between teams from around our community (hosted by Bluebonnet Detention Center), but what really makes this event so great is everything happening around it.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families spread out on blankets and lawn chairs
⚾ Kids playing, laughing, and making memories
🤝 Neighbors visiting like no time has passed
🎉 A relaxed, fun, come-and-go atmosphere for everyone

And of course… 🍽️ THE FOOD 🍽️
The concession stand will be serving up delicious meals like brisket nachos, chopped brisket sandwiches, and loaded brisket baked potatoes—meals that include chips and a drink. You’ll also find hot dogs, nachos, pickles, chips, and plenty of cold drinks, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy while you kick back and take in the games. 😄 😄

This is one of those simple, good nights in Anson that reminds you why we love our town so much. Easy, fun, welcoming, and full of familiar faces.

Bring your kids, bring your friends, and come enjoy a great evening at the ballpark. 💙
