Hi everybody, it’s Dewey!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend, everybody! I hope you’re all staying nice and cool. I certainly am here at the library! Don’t worry about me—I’m being very well taken care of. Ms. Robin is making sure I get plenty of snuggles and good food, and tomorrow I get to see my friend Fran! Honestly, I’m beginning to think this whole library cat job has some pretty excellent benefits.

I’m sorry I’ve been absent AGAIN, but apparently FM has decided that her job description includes gallivanting around instead of properly attending to my social media responsibilities. I finally managed to wrangle her this afternoon and get her to sit down long enough to bring everybody up to date. You’re welcome.

First things first: WHO SENT ME THAT GIGANTIC BOX OF GOODIES?!

There wasn’t a name in the box, so I don’t know who to thank, but THANK YOU!!! I’m thinking it must have been for my birthday because I have never seen so many wonderful goodies all in one place!

There was just one little surprise in the box…

A SNAKE!!

Never fear, everybody! I immediately went into action and had that snake under control in no time. Amy even documented my heroic efforts. I believe the official title for this particular skill is Professional Snake Wrangler. I am available for future snake-wrangling assignments, although I do prefer to be paid in Churu.

Now for some very important fashion news.

I am STILL being forced to wear the black bow tie.

And let me just say, it does absolutely nothing for my coloring. I have lovely fur, people! I need a bow tie that complements me. I’m hoping FM is still searching for the perfect color. Perhaps something elegant. Perhaps something handsome. Perhaps something that says, “I am a sophisticated library cat who is also available for treats.”

VISITORS!!

Yes, I had some wonderful visitors on Friday! Kathryn, Lochlan, and Jana came by to say hello to me. I was especially impressed with Lochlan’s shoes. They smelled VERY interesting. 👃🐾

I’m not entirely sure when my fascination with shoes began, but apparently it is now a thing.

Because then Liz and Sawyer came to visit, and I have to report that Liz also had very nice-smelling shoes!

At this point, I may need to start a shoe review column.

Because that’s when EVERYBODY comes back!
