Did you know that rye whiskey was officially named the Maryland State Spirit in 2023? Our local distilleries are keeping that proud tradition alive by crafting world-class spirits right in our backyard. When you choose spirits made with Maryland-grown grains, you support our hardworking farmers.

🌱 Healthy farms and a healthy Chesapeake Bay go hand in hand.

Every day, Maryland farmers are putting conservation into action — planting cover crops, improving soil health, managing nutrients responsibly and protecting the natural resources we all share.

As stewards of the land, farmers know that caring for our fields today means protecting our waterways for future generations. Through innovation, dedication, and a commitment to sustainability, Maryland agriculture continues to be part of the solution for a cleaner, healthier Bay.
