Extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and anyone with medical conditions.

We remind our residents and visitors to:

✅Stay hydrated,
✅Limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day
✅Check on neighbors, family members, and pets
✅NEVER leave kids or pets unattended in the vehicle

Know the signs of heat-related illness, including dizziness, heavy sweating, nausea, weakness, or fainting. Move to a cool place, drink water, and call 911 immediately if symptoms become severe or if someone may be experiencing heat stroke (confusion, altered mental status, slurred speech, loss of consciousness, hot, dry skin or profuse sweating, seizures, very high body temperature).

Remember to stay cool, hydrated, and safe!

Due to the projected heat index, the City of Annapolis will activate its cooling centers! 🌞

The primary cooling center is located at Pip Moyer Rec Center on the ground floor. Drinking water will be available. Patrons utilizing the cooling center will not have access to recreation activities.

Here are the locations and hours for our cooling centers on Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12:

Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

📍 American Legion Post 141
1707 Forest Dr
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

📍 Michael E. Busch Library
1410 West St
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

📍 Annapolis Senior Activity Center
119 S. Villa Ave
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Make sure to stay hydrated and stay in the shade when possible! 💧❄️

Great news! The fountain out front has been fixed! We apologize for any inconveniences the broken fountain out front may have caused and the delay in fixing it.
