Today, we pause to reflect on the lives forever changed, revere the courage of those who ran toward danger, and remember every life lost and every family who never got to say goodbye.

We honor their memory, their sacrifice, and the heroes who answered the call.

We Will Never Forget

Today marks the 25th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 against the United States that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people.

We honor and remember those who died and pay tribute to those firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Please take a moment to pause and reflect on all the lives lost that day and those who continue to be affected by 9/11-related illnesses.

🚒 A BIG THANK YOU TO THE EASTPORT CIVIC ASSOCIATION! 🚒

We want to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank the Eastport Civic Association for their generous donations over the years. Their continued support has made it possible for us to provide a new gazebo for our station’s outdoor grilling area!

This may look like a simple addition to the station, but it means so much to the members who call the station their home away from home. Without the generosity and support of the Eastport Civic Association, this upgrade would not have been possible. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to supporting our firefighters and our community. ❤️

But did you know what a 24-hour shift really looks like for a platoon?

A platoon works together for a full 24-hour shift. During that time, they are ready to respond at a moment’s notice to emergencies throughout our community. Between calls, they handle station duties, maintain equipment, train, prepare meals, and—when circumstances allow—eat and sleep together at the station.

The station isn’t just a place where firefighters respond from. For those 24 hours, it becomes their workplace, their kitchen, their training ground, and their home.

That’s why improvements like this outdoor grilling area matter. It creates a place for our members to come together, share a meal, unwind between calls, and build the camaraderie that is so important when working as a team during an emergency.

We are proud to invest in our station and, more importantly, grateful to the community partners who help make these improvements possible.
