Had a wonderful day in Annapolis today advocating for minor consent for vaccination, regulation of e-cigarette sales, and policy solutions to combat the opioid epidemic!

Our December meeting will be this Tuesday, December 3rd from 6-8 pm at the MedChi Office (1211 Cathedral St). We will be discussing bylaws, leadership positions, as well as gearing up for the Maryland legislative session and Annapolis Day.

Happy December 1st! As we start the last month of 2019, we wanted say congratulations to everyone who worked hard writing resolutions and providing testimonies for the Fall MedChi HOD this past month! Due to everyone's hard work, the following resolutions were passed:

- Resolution 14-19 (Gun Violence and Mental Illness Stigma in the Media)
- Resolution 15-19 (Background Checks for Long Gun Sales)
- Resolution 17-19 (Supporting Research Into the Therapeutic Potential of Psychedelics)
- Resolution 18-19 (Supporting Culture Transformation Initiative at UMSOM and UMMC)

We're super excited to announce our first MedChi Student Section general meeting with the new first years this Thursday September 12 from 6-8 pm at the MedChi Office (1221 Cathedral Street). We will be doing introductions and orientation for the new members and spending some time working on revisions within the resolution teams. Medical students from JHU and UMB and physicians. We are looking for physicians who are interested in attending.

MedChi’s Baltimore Office: 1211 Cathedral Street, Baltimore 21201
Thursday, January 24th 6PM - 8PM

Details:
This new event is intended to bring physicians and medical students together to discuss policy and topics of personal interest. Our goal is to involve more physicians in our process of formulating and writing resolutions. During the event, a physician will be stationed at each table, and small groups of students will rotate every ~5-10 minutes to a new physician's table. We hope that physicians and students will discover mutual areas of interest during this time and form connections to foster future dialogue about policy.
