The Harford County Sheriff’s Office welcomes discussion and opinions to be shared on any of our social media platforms. While visiting and posting to this page, we expect all of its users to be respectful of others. If you notice any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy or other unacceptable behavior by any user, please report it to media@harfor
dsheriff.org. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office’s page is designed for the sole purpose of outreach for the agency and affiliated partners. Posts to this page by our agency will be limited to items related to Harford County Sheriff’s Office activities and the business of our affiliated partners. Please note as a law enforcement and corrections agency, there are some types of content that we cannot allow on our site. Listed below are many prohibited items, please note these are merely examples. The list is not intended to be exhaustive, but instead helpful in understanding our expectations and guidelines. While we understand that everyone has different opinions, the HCSO will make the sole determination as to whether posted content is acceptable for our site. Without limitation, you agree that you will not post or transmit to other users anything that contains content that:
• Is defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane or offensive;
• Violates any party’s right of publicity or right of privacy;
• Is threatening, harassing or that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
• Promotes or encourages violence;
• Is inaccurate, false or misleading in any way;
• Infringes or violates another party's intellectual property rights (such as music, videos, photos or other materials for which you do not have written authority from the owner of such materials to post on the service);
• Is illegal or promotes any illegal activities;
• Promotes illegal or unauthorized copying of another person's copyrighted work or links to them or providing information to circumvent security measures;
• Contains “masked” profanity (e.g., F@& #);
• Contains references to information that is considered evidentiary and could hinder an investigation;
• Contains any advertising, promotional materials, "junk contains any advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation.
• Comments will be reviewed as to the relevance of the post they are attached to, and will be hidden if not relevant to the current conversation.
• Comments that are “spammed” onto multiple posts or comments will be limited to the first reaction, all subsequent duplicate comments will be hidden. Simply put: Keep it clean, and treat others as you’d like to be treated. We do our best to monitor what is posted on the site, and will review content from periodically its sole discretion to determine compliance with this Acceptable Use Policy. The HCSO will make all determinations as to what content is appropriate at its sole discretion. We may include, edit or remove any content at any time without notice. Please note that this site is not monitored 24 hours a day. If you have an emergency, please call or text 911. Urgent matters should be directed to the precincts.
