Today is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day!

Poll workers play a vital role in ensuring elections are secure, accessible, and run smoothly. Duties may include setting up and preparing polling locations, greeting voters, verifying registrations, issuing ballots, and providing assistance with voting procedures.

Maryland needs dedicated individuals to serve during early voting and on Election Day. Training is provided, and service is a valuable way to support your community and the democratic process.

This is to advise that Governor Wes Moore ordered the Maryland Flag lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset, Saturday, April 29, 2023. This is the day of interment for former Speaker of the House of Delegates Casper R. Taylor, Jr., who passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023. Former Speaker Taylor represented Legislative District 1.

Flag Status Alert: United States Flag and Maryland Flag are at Half-Staff
As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on March 27, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee, President Joseph R. Biden ordered the United States Flag lowered to half-staff effective immediately and returned to full-staff at sunset, Friday, March 31, 2023. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff. No flag may fly higher than the United States flag.
